Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince the movie comes out next week and James and I have tickets. In light of a new movie coming, we've been getting together Friday nights with some friends to watch the movies every week for the past...five weeks?(skipped one for Idaho) and this Friday is the final night.
And also, I wanted to read the books again so I could see if the movie is up to snuff. So basically the reason I haven't blogged in so long is because I've had my nose in books 1-6 of the series. I just started the 7th book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I read the 6th book in only three days. I feel pretty good about that...
Sadly my house reflects a bit of my book reading. Actually, it doesn't look bad but I haven't earned too many points in my incentive program. However I did spend a number of them today on shirts. Excellent.
Uh, that's it. I've been thinking about Harry Potter a lot and I'm okay with that. Did I mention we got tickets to see the midnight showing opening night? That's July 15th at 12:09 am. (There are several screens playing.)
*Update: Despite the opinions of others, I LOVED the movie. Perhaps it was the midnight euphoria but I laughed my head off. There were many lines taken directly from the book. That's my style. The end was a little different but I didn't mind. I think it's the best movie yet and I just read the book. Not to mention, I have pretty high standards. If you've heard my talk about the Twilight movie, you know. ;)

Sounds like you have been having fun. My house always falls apart if I find a good book.
I'm so jealous!! I am staying with my family and no one here is into Harry Potter! :( Well at least I will have a babysitter if I can find someone who shares my affinity for all things Hogwarts...
I can't do midnight movies anymore. I am too old. I wouldn't be able to stay awake. Sad. We are going to go when Keith has the time to go with us. You should see my house. Between going back to school and summer time it is out of control. We are doing a Harry Potter movie-thon tomorrow and Wednesday.
Not sure how this blog thing works, but here goes. I re-read Half-Blood Prince before seeing the movie. May have been a mistake. I felt the movie was very disjointed and lacked continuity. There were some scenes in the movie that weren't in the book at all. Then there were major events in the book (like the big fight scene at the end) that weren't in the movie. For non-Potter book readers, the movie wouldn't have made much sense. And there's my two-bits for what it's worth.
